Still don’t get the Web? Too late
As I’ve written before, building great mobile products is no more about pasting the Web on a cellphone screen than building great Web products is about pasting the newspaper on a computer screen.
How can news companies respond to the unique needs of mobile tech if they still can’t grasp online media? We copy/paste our way to mediocre websites that don’t consider the opportunities for alternative story forms. And now we’ve started to copy/paste our way to broken mobile apps that don’t consider the realities of the devices or user habits.
