I came to USA TODAY in June 2008 through the Gannett Talent Development Program. I was chosen for the company’s flagship publication from a pool of more than 1,200 graduates.

I distinguished myself that summer as an online news producer and moved to the homefront team as an assistant homefront editor in October 2008.

In my current position, I choose stories and layouts for USATODAY.com, the online front page, as news breaks and readership data accumulates.

Significant news events I have worked include: Inauguration Day 2009, the Michael Jackson memorial, the selection and confirmation of Justice Sonia Sotomayor and the death of Sen. Edward Kennedy.

I recognize that distribution of our content and interaction with readers has become increasingly vital, so my work extends beyond the bounds of USATODAY.com.

I manage the main USA TODAY Twitter account (@usatoday), share content on our Facebook fan page, send daily newsletters and news alerts via e-mail and pitch our stories to other media outlets (i.e. Yahoo).
